Responsibilities

• Assist or perform activities of daily living for clients, such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Provide passive range of motion exercises as needed.
• Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Plan, prepare, and store nutritious meals and snacks for clients.
• Supervise clients to ensure safety and prevent falls.
• Remind clients when medication is due and assist as legally appropriate.
• Provide companionship and engage clients in activities such as games and walks.
• Document services provided to clients clearly and legibly on timesheets and progress notes.
• Assist clients with ambulation using appropriate techniques and equipment, such as gait belts or Hoyer lifts.

Requirements

• At least six months of experience in a healthcare environment caring for the elderly.
• HCA or CNA certification or willingness to attend HCA classes within 120 days of hire.
• Knowledge of transfers, gait belts, food preparation, and nutrition needs of the elderly.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
• Valid driver's license and auto liability insurance.
• Ability to clear a federal-level background criminal check.
