About the position

The Home Caregiver position at Assisting Hands involves providing compassionate care to elderly and disabled adults in their homes. The position offers both full-time and part-time opportunities, focusing on personal care assistance, companionship, and support for clients' personal goals.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for the elderly and/or disabled adults with developmental disabilities in their homes.
• Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, toileting, dressing, and personal hygiene.
• Monitor clients' safety within the home and provide supervision.
• Perform light housekeeping duties including sweeping, mopping, taking out trash, and laundry.
• Assist with ambulation and transferring of clients.
• Help schedule transportation for doctor appointments and errands.
• Assist with grocery shopping and online shopping.
• Prepare meals for clients.
• Provide companionship and engage with clients.
• Offer friendly medication reminders.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Have a reliable form of transportation.
• Must be able to pass a Level II Background Check.
• Proof of a Negative Tuberculosis (TB) Screening.

Nice-to-haves

• CPR and First Aid Certification (training provided).
• Alzheimer's / Dementia Certification.
