About the position
The position is for in-home caregivers with nursing experience to provide comprehensive care for a 55-year-old quadriplegic male. The caregivers will be responsible for delivering empathetic and compassionate support in a family-oriented environment, ensuring the individual’s daily needs are met effectively.
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Assist with personal hygiene and incontinence care.
- Administer wound care for stage 3 pressure sores.
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding.
- Perform range of motion exercises.
- Conduct light housekeeping and laundry tasks.
- Run errands and provide medication reminders.
- Utilize a Hoyer lift for patient mobility.
- Assist with turning and repositioning the patient.
- Accompany the patient to appointments, church, and errands.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Home Health Aide (HHA), Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification.
- Experience in providing care for individuals with mobility challenges.
- Reliable transportation to travel to the job location.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in English communication.
- Availability to work weekends and flexible hours.
- TB clearance.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with stage 3 pressure sore care.
- Experience with Hoyer lift operation.
