About the position

As an In Home Personal Aide at Avenues Home Care of East Tennessee, you will provide essential care to elderly, vulnerable, and disabled clients who often cannot care for themselves. Your primary focus will be on assisting clients with their daily living activities and ensuring their needs are met with compassion and professionalism. This role requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of service and effective communication with clients and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Assist the client with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as specified in the client's plan of care.
• Provide medication assistance and support with housekeeping services, laundry, meal preparation, feeding, shopping, and transportation to appointments.
• Report daily activity to your supervisor through the agency management system and daily activity logs.
• Maintain safety in all activities concerning clients and report any suspected abuse or neglect immediately.
• Document any unusual behavior, events, or conditions and maintain confidentiality of records and correspondence.
• Attend meetings and in-services as requested and abide by all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Possess a valid Driver's License and automobile insurance.
• CNA License or equivalent experience as a caregiver preferred.
• CPR & First Aid Certifications preferred.
• Ability to follow verbal and written assignments and demonstrate good communication skills.
• Effective organizational and planning skills with attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior experience assisting with ADLs or caring for elderly, disabled, and other vulnerable clients.
