About the position
The In-House Recruiter at The Arc of Rockland will be responsible for planning, developing, and executing full-cycle talent acquisition strategies to support high-volume hiring. This role emphasizes building a diverse candidate pool and requires familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and H1B hiring processes. The recruiter will engage in community outreach, manage job postings, screen applicants, and collaborate with various departments to ensure effective recruitment practices.
Responsibilities
- Plan and strategize full-cycle talent acquisition and staffing strategies for high volume hiring.
- Post positions across multiple sites and optimize community partnerships and job boards.
- Screen applications and resumes, maintaining the resume and application database.
- Interview applicants and refer qualified candidates to appropriate departments.
- Assist managers in the selection of qualified candidates and conduct background checks and references.
- Implement recruitment strategies in the community and via social media, including job fairs.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external business partners.
- Negotiate terms with vendors for advantageous recruitment services.
- Compile reports tracking effectiveness of sourcing methods, cost per hire, and budgets.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master's preferred.
- Minimum of five years of recruitment experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Experience with H1B hiring and knowledge of employment law and recruitment best practices.
- Ability to multi-task, adapt quickly to change, and maintain confidentiality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other database applications.
Nice-to-haves
- PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM-SCP/SHRM-CP certification preferred.
- Experience in the Human Services industry.
