About the position

The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for designing, planning, and coordinating IT work teams to manage technical, software, and data-centric projects. This role requires a strong understanding of project management practices and the ability to work closely with project sponsors to achieve business and technical objectives. The manager will oversee project organization, methodologies, and team dynamics, ensuring effective communication and resolution of issues throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design and coordinate IT work teams for project execution.
• Follow standard project management practices, including PMI's framework.
• Create project kickoff, progress, and close-out reports.
• Track budget and schedule progress using appropriate metrics.
• Establish project organization and define roles and responsibilities.
• Document risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Manage project scope and implement communication plans as needed.
• Build effective teams with the right technical and business-facing experts.
• Assign tasks to team members and evaluate outcomes.
• Communicate with stakeholders and project sponsors.
• Identify, track, and resolve issues and barriers.
• Provide technical support to project team members.
• Handle complex application features and technical designs.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of project management experience.
• Experience managing technical, software, and data-centric IT projects.
• Ability to manage a project with ten or more staff or multiple subprojects.
• Strong understanding of business and technical project objectives.
• Experience in creating and managing project documentation and reports.

Nice-to-haves

• Professional certification in project management is highly desirable.
