About the position

Wayne Halfway House, Inc. is seeking an In-Person IT Support Technician to join our team in Tampa, FL. This full-time position offers a starting salary of $48,000 per year and requires some local travel. The IT Support Technician will play a crucial role in assisting the director with various projects and daily tasks that are essential for meeting the company's goals. The ideal candidate will be responsible for following IT policies and systems to support users while minimizing downtime and supporting growth initiatives. In this role, the IT Support Technician will provide on-call support by identifying, researching, and resolving technical problems. The technician will interact with network services, software systems engineering, and applications development to restore service and identify core problems. Additionally, the technician will recommend systems modifications to reduce user issues and perform routine system maintenance and analysis functions, including hardware configurations and equipment component management. The technician will also be responsible for installing operating system patches and upgrades, providing remote support services for telework/home users, and ensuring user applications work over VPN. On-site support for enterprise groups, local cabling, and troubleshooting video conferencing and audio/video systems will also be part of the job. The technician will assist with asset inventory support, disposal preparation, and gathering, analyzing, and reporting end-user support trends. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong analytical abilities, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Provides on-call support by identifying, researching and resolving technical problems
  • Interacts with network services, software systems engineering, and/or applications development to restore service and/or identify and correct core problems
  • Recommends systems modifications to reduce user problems
  • Performs routine system maintenance and analysis functions, including hardware configurations and adding, removing and replacing equipment components
  • Installs operating system patches, upgrades etc.
  • Provides remote support services for telework/home users
  • Helps ensure user applications work over VPN
  • Local On-Site Cabling
  • Provides on-site support for enterprise groups such as the network and security operation centers
  • Restarts network equipment, including switches and routers as directed by enterprise networking
  • Replaces defective network equipment
  • Assists users with mobile communication devices
  • Provides support, including but not limited to hardware troubleshooting, OS reinstall, and assisting with device swapping
  • Assists with physical inventory as needed
  • Assists with receiving and receipting property
  • Processes computer equipment for disposal
  • Ensures disposal policies are properly employed
  • Ensures all devices are fully wiped of information before leaving the facility
  • Troubleshoots system problems and repairs
  • Works with support staff for remote troubleshooting and repairs
  • Assists in setting up presentation devices and video conferencing units
  • Supports pre/post application releases
  • Sets up gaming systems for youth
  • Gathers, analyzes, and reports end-user support trends
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of related experience preferred
