About the position

The In-plant Area Manager for Assembly Operations at Unipres USA, Inc. is responsible for overseeing the assembly activities within the Smyrna Plant, ensuring that production processes run efficiently and safely. This role involves managing a team of Assembly Technicians, implementing continuous improvement strategies, and maintaining high-quality standards in production. The position requires strong leadership skills and a commitment to enhancing operational performance through effective communication and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all activities of Assembly Technicians.
• Ensure assembly equipment operates at maximum capacity.
• Recommend and actively participate in improving production methods and technician performance.
• Maintain a satisfactory work area through the implementation of 5S.
• Effectively eliminate safety concerns and implement safety countermeasures.
• Train, coach, and lead assembly technicians.
• Communicate with the Section Manager regarding safety items requiring assistance.
• Develop cost reduction activities relevant to the position.
• Analyze problems as they arise and report concerns to appropriate leaders in a timely manner.
• Ensure parts produced meet UNIPRES quality standards.
• Monitor equipment start-up and assist in maintenance or equipment problems.
• Be proactive in line Kaizen activities for productivity improvement and scrap reduction.
• Plan and coordinate equipment downtime control with supervisors or support personnel.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience.
• Understanding of MIG and resistance welding.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Competency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Vocational school or college degree is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in manufacturing leadership roles.
• Knowledge of Kaizen methodologies.
