About the position

The In-Plant Safety Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with PSSI's safety procedures within the plant. This role involves communicating safety policies, training team members on safety practices, and maintaining a safe working environment. The specialist will also conduct safety audits, investigate incidents, and implement corrective actions to enhance safety performance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure PSSI operations comply with all company policies and procedures and customer requirements.
• Implement and maintain safety policies and procedures.
• Follow directives from management regarding Safety, Health, and Environmental issues.
• Communicate regularly with Safety and Technical Services teams.
• Report all accidents and first aid incidents following established protocols.
• Establish annual safety goals and measure performance in safety training and awareness.
• Perform investigations for severe injuries and OSHA complaints, ensuring follow-up and action plans are implemented.
• Conduct weekly safety audits and assist operations with corrective actions, reporting findings to management.
• Identify and eliminate workplace hazards.
• Maintain communication with the Site Manager.
• Exercise independent judgment in issuing disciplinary actions for safety violations.

Requirements

• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
