About the position

The In Vivo Research Assistant at the START Center for Cancer Research plays a crucial role in the preclinical division, XenoSTART, which focuses on developing relevant preclinical cancer models. This position involves data collection from various studies, small animal handling, and performing essential laboratory procedures to support cancer research efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Collects data from industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies.
  • Handles small animals, including husbandry and surgery.
  • Prepares and administers drugs and other laboratory solutions.
  • Conducts blood and tissue collection and processing.
  • Maintains and cleans laboratory equipment and environments.
  • Stores and manages data on the internal server.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge and training in animal handling and research preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with in vivo PK/PD and efficacy studies.
  • Familiarity with tumor implantation and cell injection procedures.
