About the position

The Inbound Logistics Manager at Sysco is responsible for optimizing inbound transportation, appointment scheduling, and claim resolution to maximize efficiency and freight margin. This role involves leading a team of Logistics Planners to meet key performance indicators (KPIs) and implementing strategic initiatives for business process improvement that enhance supply chain performance. The manager will also create standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inbound logistics and train field personnel on these processes.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sysco GSC, SCIM, Finance, and Operations to optimize inbound transportation and appointment scheduling.
• Lead and develop a team of 7+ Logistics Planners to meet or exceed Inbound Logistics Organization KPIs.
• Implement strategic initiatives for business process improvement impacting supply chain performance.
• Create Inbound Logistics SOPs and train field personnel on processes.
• Assist in the development of policies and programs, perform opportunity assessments, and maintain reporting and accountabilities.
• Coordinate with GSC, Market, and Site management to implement projects and policies to achieve objectives.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives supporting cost and service goals.
• Direct supervision of day-to-day activities of direct reports, providing guidance and support.

Requirements

• High School Diploma with a minimum of 6 years professional work experience; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5 years in a cross-functional supply chain/project management role preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with senior business leaders.
• Strong organizational and presentation skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and develop buy-in through influence.
• Excellent computer and analytical skills, including MS Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.
