About the position

The Inbound Operations Team Leader at Target is responsible for overseeing the inbound operations of the store, ensuring that products are stocked, organized, and available for guests. This role emphasizes guest service, operational efficiency, and team leadership, with a focus on creating a positive shopping experience. The Team Leader will work closely with the Executive Team Leader (ETL) to manage workload, train team members, and uphold safety and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience.
  • Model, train, and coach team members on expectations to deliver the service standard.
  • Understand sales goals and execute daily/weekly workload to meet department and store sales goals.
  • Be an expert in operations, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Utilize workload planning tools to complete all scheduled tasks ensuring areas are guest ready at store open.
  • Help create a scheduling plan based on business workload and guest traffic.
  • Assess all GM backroom and sales floor areas to identify gaps and develop a plan to resolve them.
  • Ensure product is in stock and available for guests.
  • Assist ETL in leading and following up on organizational and operational changes.
  • Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team.
  • Establish clear goals and expectations for team members and hold them accountable.
  • Assist ETL in team onboarding and learning.
  • Lead and coach team members to ensure accuracy and efficiency in inbound processes.
  • Close knowledge and skill gaps of team members through training and experiences.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Lead a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Support ETL in creating a safety advocacy culture.
  • Execute all best practices as outlined in team onboarding and learning.

Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Age 18 or older.
  • Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
  • Learn and adapt to current technology needs.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude.
  • Effective communication skills.
