About the position

The Inbound Payroll Specialist is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to clients regarding payroll processing and tax filing issues. This role involves handling inbound calls and online chats, troubleshooting complex payroll issues, and ensuring accurate account management. The specialist will collaborate with various teams to resolve client issues and maintain detailed documentation of interactions.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound calls and online chats with SurePayroll clients in a contact center environment.
• Assist clients with issues related to previously run payrolls and account information.
• Troubleshoot payroll issues such as direct deposit reversals, payroll adjustments, and amended tax returns.
• Research client issues and collaborate with Customer Service, Tax, Payroll Operations, and Finance teams to resolve account issues.
• Complete paperwork for billing issues, amended tax returns, and payroll adjustments.
• Document client interactions in SalesForce.com to ensure continuity of service.
• Build knowledge of payroll systems through training and self-guided learning.
• Provide friendly and helpful customer service to build client confidence.
• Manage call and hold time service levels to enhance client service.
• Mentor less senior staff members to improve departmental efficiency.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree (preferred)
• 1 year of experience in a customer service or contact center environment
• 1 - 2 years of payroll processing and troubleshooting experience
