About the position

The Incarceration Alternatives Program Director is responsible for directing and managing statewide programs and initiatives within the Minnesota Department of Corrections aimed at providing alternatives to incarceration for clients. This role involves designing strategies, coordinating with various organizations, managing reentry issues, and overseeing grants and contracts for intervention services. The position also supervises staff associated with the Opportunity for Change (O4C) Program and promotes a flexible work environment with telework options.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage statewide programs for alternatives to incarceration.
• Design strategies and coordinate with government and community organizations.
• Identify and manage reentry issues affecting available services.
• Develop, award, and monitor grants and contracts for intervention services.
• Supervise staff associated with the Opportunity for Change (O4C) Program.

Requirements

• Four years of experience with clients from diverse backgrounds in corrections, social work, or related fields.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in a supervisory or project lead role.
• Knowledge of human resources principles and procedures.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Human relation and conflict resolution skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Completion of a degree in Corrections, Criminal Justice, or related field.
• Two or more years of supervisory experience in a correctional environment.
• Experience in designing and evaluating correctional programs.
• Training in Evidence Based Practices (EBP).
