About the position

The Income Maintenance Caseworker II - Universal Intake position is responsible for the intake and processing of applications for various federal and state Economic Service Programs. This role involves determining and verifying client eligibility for services such as Food and Nutrition Services, Medicaid, Crisis Intervention Program, and Low Income Energy Assistance Program. The employee will conduct interviews, process applications, and maintain accurate records using a web-based application to ensure clients receive necessary services.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct interviews with clients to gather necessary information for service applications.
  • Enter client information into a web-based application for initial applications and eligibility verification.
  • Determine and verify client eligibility for Economic Service programs using electronic data.
  • Complete scheduled reviews to update client information and re-verify eligibility.
  • Explain service requirements and options to clients, referring them to additional services as needed.
  • Perform various activities throughout the eligibility determination process using a state-interconnected web-based application.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality to ensure service availability for clients.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One year of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker or equivalent training and experience.
  • Experience in interviewing, negotiating, and explaining information to clients.
  • Ability to gather, compile, and analyze data effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Graduation from an accredited associate degree program in Human Services Technology, Social Services, Paralegal Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Two years of paraprofessional or clerical experience in public contact roles.

Benefits

  • Full-time position with a salary range of $40,249.55 - $43,952.00 per year.
