About the position

The Income Maintenance Caseworker II position at Clay County Government is a full-time role within the Department of Social Services. The primary responsibility of this position is to assess and determine applicants' eligibility for the Medicaid program, ensuring compliance with program requirements and providing necessary guidance to clients.

Responsibilities

• Determine and/or redetermine applicants' eligibility for the Medicaid program.
• Interview clients to obtain required information and complete initial applications.
• Verify information obtained from clients to determine eligibility or complete scheduled program reviews.
• Explain program requirements and options to clients, advising or referring them to other program services as appropriate.
• Review work through conferences and evaluations of processed cases for accuracy and completeness of records.

Requirements

• A two-year Associates degree in Human Services Technology, Social Services Associate, Paralegal Technology, Business Administration, Secretarial Science, or a closely related curriculum is preferred.
• One year of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker I, or graduation from high school with two years of paraprofessional, clerical, or public contact experience, including negotiating, interviewing, and explaining information.
