Rover is seeking an Income Tax Accountant II to join our growing tax team. This position is crucial for the preparation of the Company's worldwide quarterly tax provision and annual income tax compliance workpapers. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, results-focused, and possess excellent organizational and communication skills. You will collaborate with others to support team projects and company-wide initiatives while also being able to work independently. This role is based in our Seattle office, which offers a hybrid in-office and remote working arrangement. As an Income Tax Accountant II, your primary responsibilities will include preparing the quarterly worldwide income tax provision, engaging with external service providers for the preparation of US Federal, state, and international income tax returns, and preparing calculations that support these filings. You will also coordinate with accounting and external service providers to manage fixed asset tax depreciation calculations and reporting for income tax and personal property filings. Additionally, you will support the month-end close process for relevant tax accruals and reserves, engage in identifying and maintaining process improvements, and perform tax technical research to communicate results and potential action items effectively. This position will also involve assisting with income tax examinations by gathering data, drafting responses to information requests, and, in limited situations, communicating with taxing authorities. You will develop relationships with both internal and external tax resources and assist in executing and maintaining SOX control processes and documentation for income tax. Other tax projects may arise as needed, providing a dynamic work environment where you can grow and contribute significantly to the team.
