About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of tax regulations and financial concepts, along with excellent customer service skills. This role involves preparing tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, and providing clients with valuable financial advice.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Review financial records, including income statements and documentation of expenditures, to determine tax liability.
• Provide clients with guidance on tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
• Assist clients in understanding their financial situations and provide recommendations based on their needs.
• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage for efficient data management and reporting.
• Maintain confidentiality of client information while providing exceptional customer service.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance overall productivity and client satisfaction.

Requirements

• Proven experience in tax preparation or public accounting is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of technical accounting principles and financial concepts.
• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage) is a plus.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
• Ability to analyze financial data effectively and provide actionable insights.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple clients efficiently.
