About the position
The Personal Income Tax Preparer at Emerald Tax and Accounting Services LLC is responsible for preparing Federal and State Individual Income Tax Returns for clients. This role involves direct interaction with clients to gather necessary information, preparing tax returns using financial software, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. The position is available for both part-time and full-time work, with a flexible schedule to accommodate client needs during the 2024 Tax Filing Season starting in January 2025.
Responsibilities
- Prepare federal, state, and local income tax returns using Drake software.
- Discuss tax results with clients, including taxes payable or refunds.
- Obtain client authorization for electronic filing of tax returns.
- Maintain compliance with tax regulations through research and consultation with supervisors.
- Keep all client and company information confidential.
- Participate in educational opportunities to update job knowledge.
- Contribute to team results by welcoming new work requirements and helping others.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of tax preparation experience.
- Enrolled Agent or CPA preferred.
- Strong financial skills and experience with financial software.
- Ability to analyze financial information and report research results.
- General math skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Drake software.
- Membership in professional organizations related to tax preparation.
