We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join our team at Universal Tax Services in Lake Worth, FL. This position involves preparing and filing federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses, while also managing your own client base through self-marketing. The role is commission-based, allowing you to earn 75% of the fees charged to your clients. The Tax Preparer will utilize accounting software and maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax regulations to provide excellent service and guidance to clients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Gather financial data from clients, including income statements, expenses, and other relevant documentation.
• Review financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax laws.
• Provide guidance to clients on tax-related inquiries and financial planning strategies.
• Utilize accounting software to input data and generate reports.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax regulations and changes in the law.
• Assist clients in understanding their tax liabilities and potential deductions.
• Ensure confidentiality and security of client information.

Requirements

• 7 years of customer service experience.
• 5 years of experience with accounting software.
• Excellent math skills for accurate calculations related to taxes.
• Proficient in 10 key typing for efficient data entry.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple client accounts.
