About the position
The Independent Living Skills (ILS) Instructor/Direct Support Provider role involves providing one-on-one training to individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes and communities throughout Los Angeles County. The instructor will focus on enhancing the independent living skills of clients, ensuring they can navigate daily life effectively.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one training in independent living skills to individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Conduct training sessions in clients' homes and community settings.
- Assess clients' needs and tailor training programs accordingly.
- Document training progress and maintain detailed records of client interactions.
- Establish and maintain professional boundaries while fostering interpersonal relationships with clients.
Requirements
- Bilingual in Armenian and English, with strong communication skills in both written and oral forms.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Ability to interact with diverse populations and maintain professional relationships.
- Strong assessment and documentation skills with attention to detail.
- Possess a valid driver's license, a working automobile with insurance, and a cellular phone.
- Ability to work throughout all of Los Angeles County.
