The Independent Living Skills Instructor at Harmony Home, Associated is responsible for teaching and supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their own homes and communities. This role emphasizes creating a positive learning environment tailored to the unique needs of each individual, helping them acquire essential life skills and achieve their personal goals. The position requires a commitment to fostering independence and community participation among the individuals served.
Responsibilities
- Teach essential life skills to individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Support individuals in utilizing and participating in their community.
- Create a positive and tailored learning environment for each individual.
- Provide ongoing support to help individuals achieve their goals and dreams.
Requirements
- Experience working with people who have intellectual/developmental disabilities.
- CPR Certification.
- Strong writing skills.
- Proficiency in English.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Reliable and registered automobile with car insurance.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally.
