The Independent Mortgage Field Inspector role involves conducting property inspections on behalf of mortgage companies to verify occupancy status and document property conditions. Inspectors will perform various types of inspections, including occupancy verification, vacant property inspections, and specialty inspections such as damage assessments. This position is ideal for individuals or businesses looking to establish a contract-based inspection service in specific counties of Vermont and New Hampshire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct occupancy verification inspections for existing mortgages.
• Perform vacant property inspections and specialty inspections such as damage assessments.
• Document the condition of each property and report occupancy status.
• Deliver door cards and determine utility status of properties.
• Report any observed damages during inspections.

Requirements

• Must have a legally recognized business entity such as an LLC or Corporation.
• Located in Windham, Windsor, or Orange County VT; Cheshire County NH or Caledonia County VT may also be considered.
• Availability during daylight hours for inspections year-round.
• Dependable and fuel-efficient transportation is required.
• Valid Driver License is necessary.
• Must possess an Android or iOS smartphone.
• Access to a laptop or desktop computer is required.
• Printer and high-speed internet connection are necessary.
• GPS device is required for navigation.
• Volt Stick/Voltage Tester and Yard stick/Meter Stick are needed for inspections.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Nice-to-haves

• Relevant experience in property inspections is preferred but not required.
