About the position
This position is for a co-producer on an indie feature film project that has a Coen Brothers-esque style. The role requires a partnership with the director/writer, focusing on line producing or related creative management skills. The ideal candidate should have the ability to recognize quality screenplays and promising directors, contributing to the overall success of the film project.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the director/writer to develop the film project.
- Assist in line producing tasks to ensure the project stays on schedule and within budget.
- Evaluate and provide feedback on screenplay quality and director's vision.
- Manage creative aspects of the production process, drawing from theater group management experience.
Requirements
- Experience in line producing or transferable skills from theater group creative management.
- Ability to read and assess screenplays for quality and potential.
- Strong communication skills to engage with directors and other creative personnel.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience in indie film production.
- Familiarity with Coen Brothers' film style and storytelling techniques.
