The Indirect Procurement Buyer is primarily responsible for managing indirect materials and services procurement, delivery, and confirmation of delivery to include release of purchase orders to meet requirements. The Indirect Procurement Buyer executes site and corporate goals with a focus on supply pricing, vendor contracting, vendor management, and process improvements/guidance. The role involves participating in or leading cross-functional initiatives to reduce cost and improve service levels for both internal and external customers. The candidate will develop and manage key supplier relationships to serve the local site in the most efficient manner. Through a collaborative team, the buyer will coordinate and drive the RFP's / RFI's process for regional and site level initiatives, inviting key suppliers to provide solutions and cost proposals for Catalent business requirements, evaluating proposals, making supplier recommendations, selecting suppliers, awarding business, and handling contracts for key stakeholders. Additionally, the buyer will finalize contracts for services and packaging in alignment with Legal and ensuring full adherence to local and Corporate Transaction Policy. Cooperation and partnership with Finance to analyze base cost variances, prevent uncontrolled expenses escalation, and drive corrections and costs increase mitigation is also essential. The role supports local Capital Expenditure projects in close collaboration with local teams and global Procurement for supplier selection, negotiation, and contracting, while leading and supporting indirect savings projects (TCE) from procurement. Other duties may be assigned by Procurement Management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage indirect materials and services procurement, delivery, and confirmation of delivery.
  • Execute site and corporate goals focusing on supply pricing, vendor contracting, and vendor management.
  • Participate in or lead cross-functional initiatives to reduce costs and improve service levels.
  • Develop and manage key supplier relationships to serve the local site efficiently.
  • Coordinate and drive the RFP's / RFI's process for regional and site level initiatives.
  • Invite key suppliers to provide solutions and cost proposals for Catalent business requirements.
  • Evaluate proposals, make supplier recommendations, select suppliers, and award business.
  • Finalize contracts for services and packaging in alignment with Legal and Corporate Transaction Policy.
  • Cooperate with Finance to analyze base cost variances and prevent uncontrolled expenses escalation.
  • Support local Capital Expenditure projects in collaboration with local teams and global Procurement.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
  • Comfortable interacting with suppliers, including assertive situations.
  • Ability to perform basic analysis of vendors, materials, and prices for recommendations and decisions.
  • 2+ years of procurement experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Knowledge of contract negotiation and management.
  • Familiarity with procurement software and tools.
