About the position

The Project Manager will oversee the successful execution of construction projects, ensuring they meet all contractual requirements and quality standards. This role involves managing various components of the project lifecycle, from planning and procurement to construction and close-out, while promoting a culture of safety and quality. The Project Manager will also be responsible for cost management and value engineering to drive project efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Create a roadmap for project success, understanding all components of the projects and finding ways to meet project deliverables.
  • Manage, coordinate, and administer site construction and supporting activities, including planning, procurement, construction, start-up, and prime contract close-out.
  • Ensure overall project execution within contract requirements and standards of quality and safety.
  • Write detailed and effective bid packages to ensure seamless project delivery and best value.
  • Support the selection of partners and suppliers.
  • Promote a safe and quality-driven culture, both project and company-wide.
  • Deliver projects ahead of schedule, enabling teams to solve problems and prioritize execution by company needs.
  • Track and understand all project costs, challenge teams to drive costs down, and suggest value-engineered proposals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience in a PM role, particularly in heavy industrial, oil & gas, or complex chemical plants.
  • Experience managing vendors onsite and handling T&M scopes, including small contracts such as onsite restrooms and maintenance requests.
  • Local knowledge of contracts, vendors, and previous relationships.
  • Ability to manage vendors and suppliers locally, with knowledge of good pricing and local markets.
  • Strong analytical skills, particularly in Excel and data analysis.
  • Experience with commercial aspects of scopes, including preparing RFPs, scopes of work, bid evaluation, contractor selection, and contract management.
  • Proven ability to fully manage a project, particularly on projects valued at $500M or more.
