About the position

As an Indirect Tax Technology Implementation Consultant, Manager at PwC, you will play a pivotal role in our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice. This position offers a unique opportunity to assist clients in navigating complex business issues related to indirect taxes, including value-added taxes, sales and use taxes, and federal excise taxes. You will be responsible for assessing clients' state and local tax burdens and recommending solutions that align with their business objectives while ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations. In this role, you will work closely with clients to identify and explore indirect tax opportunities and challenges associated with business expansion, systems and controls, refunds, cash flow, and policy design. Your expertise will help clients manage their indirect tax responsibilities effectively, ensuring that their filing positions are consistent with best practices and legal requirements. You will also be expected to develop new skills and take on challenges outside of your comfort zone, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within your team. As a Manager, you will lead a team of problem solvers, guiding them through complex business issues from strategy to execution. You will be responsible for coaching team members, recognizing their strengths, and encouraging them to take ownership of their personal development. Your analytical skills will be crucial in evaluating complex ideas and proposals, allowing you to build meaningful recommendations based on data and insights. You will also be tasked with simplifying complex messages and ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and informed throughout the process. Responsibilities

  • Assess clients' state and local tax burdens and recommend solutions that support their overall business objectives.
  • Help clients manage their indirect tax responsibilities related to various transaction taxes.
  • Identify and explore indirect tax opportunities and issues related to business expansion, systems and controls, refunds, and cash flow.
  • Coach team members and encourage personal development and ownership of their growth.
  • Analyze complex ideas or proposals and build a range of meaningful recommendations.
  • Use data and insights to inform conclusions and support decision-making.
  • Develop a point of view on key global trends and their impact on clients.
  • Manage a variety of viewpoints to build consensus and create positive outcomes for all parties.
  • Simplify complex messages, highlighting and summarizing key points.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in indirect tax or a related area.
  • CPA, Member of the Bar, or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials may qualify for this opportunity.
