About the position

The Industrial and Process Engineer I - V position at FedEx Ground involves utilizing fundamental engineering concepts, practices, and procedures to analyze operational data and methods. The primary goal is to identify performance improvement opportunities and implement technology systems that align with business objectives. This role provides essential analysis, reporting tools, and engineering support for FedEx Ground field operations, which is crucial for effectively controlling and justifying operational costs. In this role, the engineer will analyze performance data within the engineering domain, employing various engineering tools and software to derive insights and answer basic engineering questions. The engineer will also be responsible for researching, analyzing, and consolidating technical or engineering-related information, which will be presented for management review. Additionally, the engineer will prepare accurate expenditure proposals and cost justification analyses with guidance from management. The position requires the formulation and presentation of research documents, progress reports, and results to team members and internal customers. The engineer will apply project management fundamentals and concepts, developing progress reports, meeting minutes, and field communication memos for management review. Participation in Control Self Monitoring (CSM) and/or Business Control Self-Assessment (BCSA) processes within the area of responsibility is also expected. Other duties may be assigned as necessary, making adaptability and a proactive approach essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical or quantitative degree (e.g. mathematics) required.
  • Disciplines may include Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or related fields.

  • Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.
  • Verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with all levels of management.
  • Presentation skills necessary to facilitate training and/or deliver informational sessions to groups and/or individuals.
