The University of Florida College of Medicine is seeking an experienced Industrial and Systems Engineer to join the Quality and Patient Safety Initiative (QPSi). This role is pivotal in advancing the science and practice of patient safety by integrating established industrial and systems engineering methods with innovative AI tools. The successful candidate will be a critical team member, contributing to a culture of creativity and forward-thinking within the QPSi team. The position involves leading AI-driven healthcare process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient safety and care quality. You will collaborate closely with clinicians, data scientists, and quality improvement experts to design and implement predictive models, discrete event simulations, and agent-based modeling, all of which are essential for improving clinical decision-making and healthcare operations at UF Health. In this role, you will manage quality improvement initiatives and lead pilot projects focused on predicting and preventing adverse events. You will guide projects from inception to completion, ensuring measurable advancements in patient safety. Reporting directly to the Executive Director of QPSi, you will champion innovation and continuous improvement, driving transformative healthcare solutions. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the entire project lifecycle, collaborating with biostatistics and AI teams to develop data-driven models, and preparing and presenting findings to key stakeholders, including executives and front-line clinicians.
