About the position

As an Industrial Architectural Designer at Lamar Johnson Collaborative (LJC), you will play a crucial role in contributing to various design projects while supporting the leadership team in expanding the firm's presence and portfolio. This position involves collaboration across multiple disciplines within LJC and its parent company, Clayco, to deliver high-quality projects from concept to completion. You will engage with clients, conduct analyses, and develop design concepts, ensuring that the projects align with the firm's core values of integrity, humility, and fearlessness.

Responsibilities

• Deliver projects from design concept through final completion of deliverables and submissions with high quality.
• Conduct analysis of various data sets and develop design and urban planning concepts.
• Create project presentations and documentation.
• Coordinate with a multi-disciplinary design team.
• Assist with project management and serve as a key client liaison.
• Provide technical assistance on planning, regulatory environment, urban design, and site design.
• Attend meetings with public and private-sector clients, including governmental entities.
• Represent LJC in the community and at civic events.
• Develop civic and public engagement tools and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field.
• 3+ years of relevant, demonstrable experience.
• Competence with AutoCAD/Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, GIS, and 3D modeling tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to graphically explain ideas and competent presentation skills.
• Understanding of the delivery and implementation of design thinking.
