About the position

The Industrial Automation Engineer position at ISCO Industries is a full-time role based in the Corsicana, TX fabrication facility. This role is pivotal in automating current manufacturing processes and enhancing operational efficiency. The engineer will be responsible for specifying, designing, building, programming, and implementing tools and equipment that support the operations and sales teams, ensuring they have the necessary resources to excel in the industry. The position offers a unique blend of design and planning work in the office, alongside hands-on implementation and support in the shop environment. The engineer will work both independently and collaboratively with the remote Manufacturing Projects Team and onsite Maintenance and Fabrication Teams. This role requires a proactive approach to optimizing existing manufacturing processes and implementing new automated solutions. The engineer will engage in various tasks, including the specification, procurement, implementation, and support of robotic, CNC, and other automated manufacturing equipment. Additionally, the engineer will design and build new equipment, maintain and improve existing systems, procure necessary tools, and document all projects undertaken. Collaboration with the Remote Projects team is essential for addressing existing equipment issues and planning future projects, all while supporting broader company initiatives and performing other related tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Optimization of current manufacturing processes
  • Implementation of new manufacturing processes utilizing automated equipment
  • Specification, procurement, implementation, and support of robotic, CNC, and automated manufacturing equipment
  • Design and build new equipment
  • Maintain and improve existing equipment
  • Procure tools and equipment
  • Document and organize all projects worked on
  • Collaborate with Remote Projects team for existing equipment and future projects
  • Support operations and company initiatives
  • Perform other tasks as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Automation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other Engineering discipline
  • 5 - 10 years of experience designing, specifying, implementing, and supporting automated manufacturing equipment
  • Industrial control system design, implementation, and troubleshooting skills
  • Siemens PLC logic writing, programming, and troubleshooting experience
  • Electrical system design, troubleshooting, wiring, and documentation skills
  • Robotic experience
  • Proficient in TIA portal
  • Experience with Automation Direct PLC is a plus
  • Proficient knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
  • Project management and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
