The Industrial/Automation Engineering Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing all aspects of manufacturing engineering activities within the organization, with a strong emphasis on automation. This position is integral to the company's operations, which has been a leader in the manufacturing of abrasives, brushes, and power tools for over 200 years. The manager will be responsible for conducting comprehensive studies aimed at optimizing workflow and spatial utilization, which are essential for enhancing productivity and efficiency in the manufacturing process. In this role, the manager will recommend and acquire the necessary equipment for production line expansion or modification, ensuring that all projects align with the organization's objectives and are completed within budget constraints. The position requires a proactive approach to managing subordinate staff, ensuring high performance and adherence to company standards. The manager will oversee project and department milestones, ensuring they are met on time and within approved budgets, while also exercising full authority for personnel actions, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations. Safety compliance is a critical aspect of this role, and the manager will ensure that all safety regulations and company policies are adhered to. Collaboration with senior management is essential to align industrial engineering activities with the strategic goals of the organization. Continuous improvement of department processes is expected, leveraging extensive knowledge and experience in the field of industrial engineering and automation. The manager will also be responsible for performing other related duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an individual contributor in manufacturing engineering, with significant exposure to automation.
• 1 to 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of industrial engineering principles, automation technologies, and equipment procurement.
• Proven ability to manage projects and teams effectively, meeting deadlines and budget constraints.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
