About the position

The Field Service Engineer will provide field service support for Honeywell HPS applications and products at customer locations, primarily in the Lake Charles and Sulphur areas of Louisiana. This role involves maintenance, configuration, programming, installation, and troubleshooting of complex Honeywell control systems, while also serving as the primary contact for customers and ensuring strong relationships are maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Perform DCS maintenance, including hardware and software components, field troubleshooting of common IO and loop problems, and adding and modifying logic as per standard.
  • Work with voltages up to 110VAC and 40VDC.
  • Configure, maintain, and solve Honeywell hardware and software issues, including Experion PKS and other DCS hardware/software.
  • Learn the end-to-end product/solution development and delivery/execution of Honeywell products and solutions.
  • Troubleshoot network connections of Ethernet and coaxial cabling.
  • Modify and edit HMI graphics.
  • Act as the focal point for Honeywell with the customer, providing technical solutions.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience with DCS (Distributed Controls System) or PLC or Networking / Virtual System maintenance.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Technical/Engineering field.
  • Previous experience in field service support for automation control systems, preferably with Honeywell HPS applications and products.
  • Strong knowledge of Honeywell control systems, including EXPERION PKS and TPS/TDC300.
  • Experience with Experion PKS Hardware & Software, Hiway, TDC, & TPS system experience including LCN, UCN, and Hiway equipment along with PC/Networking experience.
  • Experience with 3rd party controls.
  • Experience in virtualization hardware/software, setup, and network configuration.
  • Knowledge of open systems such as microcomputers and networking technologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience and training in Honeywell applications such as TPS/PMIO, EPKS/Series C, advanced applications (PHD, etc.), safety systems (FSC/SM), HMI, and SCADA (PLCs, ladder logic, etc.).
  • Self-motivated and willing to work in demanding environments with little or no supervision.
