About the position
The Industrial Automation Specialist at Industrial Electronic Supply, Inc. (IES) is responsible for consulting with customers to understand their needs in industrial automation and control systems. This role involves recommending solutions, demonstrating new technologies, and cultivating strong customer relationships to drive sales and business growth. The specialist will leverage their expertise in various automation technologies to improve customer safety, productivity, and profitability across diverse industries.
Responsibilities
- Consult with customers to understand their needs, applications, and opportunities for improvements.
- Recommend solutions, and demonstrate new technologies and product solutions.
- Cultivate and prioritize strong customer and partner relationships.
- Grow sales and generate new business.
- Prepare presentations, proposals, and quotes to secure orders.
- Maintain a high level of application and product expertise, as well as competency with complementary products.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical degree and/or experience.
- Knowledge of Industrial Automation & Control Systems including PLC, RIO, HMI, SCADA & Industrial PCs.
- Knowledge of VFD & Motor Control.
- Knowledge of Industrial Networking, understanding of Profinet & Profibus is a plus.
- Knowledge of Industrial Instrumentation - Level, Pressure, Flow is a plus.
- Knowledge of Power Distribution Systems - LV/MV Switchgear, Motor Control Centers (MCCs), Panelboards, Switchboards is a plus.
- Effective listening, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to identify customer needs, present solutions and product recommendations, and close orders.
- Ability to educate customers and provide product demonstrations.
- Strong work ethic.
Nice-to-haves
- Siemens experience in Industrial Automation & Control Systems.
- Understanding of Profinet & Profibus in Industrial Networking.
