About the position

The Industrial Base Technical Analyst (Digital Manufacturing) at ANSER plays a crucial role in supporting the Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment (IBAS) program within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Industrial Base Policy. This position involves researching and analyzing the global defense industrial base, identifying strengths, weaknesses, threats, and opportunities, and recommending prototyping efforts. The analyst will also craft acquisition documents, evaluate proposed efforts, monitor program execution, and engage in outreach and strategic communications. The role requires a deep understanding of the Department of Defense's planning, programming, budgeting, and execution (PPBE) process.

Responsibilities

• Research and analyze strengths, weaknesses, threats, and opportunities within the global defense industrial base.
• Recommend relevant prototyping efforts and craft acquisition documents.
• Evaluate proposed efforts and monitor program execution.
• Conduct outreach efforts and site visits as required.
• Engage in strategic communications operations.

Requirements

• US citizen with the ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance.
• Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, science, or technology analysis.
• 6+ years of relevant work experience in a U.S. military Major Command Staff level or higher or in a large industrial corporation.
• Understanding of digital manufacturing, automation, Industry 4.0, and operational equipment effectiveness.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the DoD acquisition process and PPBE.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team setting and provide guidance to junior/mid-level engineers.

Nice-to-haves

• Demonstrated knowledge of systems engineering concepts and methods.
• Lean Six Sigma certification.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.
