About the position

Veolia North America is seeking an Industrial Business Development Manager to join our team in Denver, Colorado. This position is pivotal in driving direct sales and business development within a designated territory, either west or east of the Mississippi River. The primary responsibility of the role is to achieve sales goals for booked orders and gross margin, which requires a strategic approach to developing new business opportunities and generating leads to increase sales. The successful candidate will engage in sales calls with engineers, EPCs (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction firms), and end users, ensuring that our solutions meet their needs effectively. The role also involves attending trade shows as required, which provides an excellent opportunity to network and showcase our innovative solutions. Collaboration with the marketing department is essential for idea generation and coordination of marketing efforts. The Industrial Business Development Manager will work closely with office process and engineering staff to develop and write proposals, ensuring that all technical aspects are accurately represented. Additionally, the role includes the development of sales presentations that effectively communicate the value of our offerings. A key aspect of this position is the coordination with the worldwide Veolia network, leveraging learnings and insights from global key accounts to enhance local strategies. The manager will lead negotiations on pricing and terms and conditions for final sales, ensuring that all agreements are beneficial for both the company and our clients. Regular preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts is also required to track progress and adjust strategies as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Direct sales and business development responsibility in assigned territory to achieve sales goals for booked orders and gross margin.
  • Develop strategies for expanding new business opportunities and lead generation avenues for increased sales.
  • Conduct sales calls on engineers, EPCs, and end users.
  • Attend trade shows as required to promote products and services.
  • Coordinate and generate ideas with the marketing department.
  • Interact with office process and engineering staff for detailed project discussions.
  • Develop and write proposals with support from office staff.
  • Create and deliver sales presentations to potential clients.
  • Coordinate with the worldwide Veolia network to leverage learnings and manage global key accounts.
  • Lead pricing and terms and conditions negotiation on final sales.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the application and sale of capital equipment/systems and technology in the industrial wastewater treatment industry.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree required, preferably in an engineering discipline.
  • High degree of technical competence in wastewater treatment systems.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Intimate understanding of buying influences and purchasing protocols in the light industrial market.
  • Experience in sales of high rate anaerobic treatment systems to industrial users is a plus.
