About the position

The Industrial Control Systems Administrator at The Ohio State University is responsible for the design, support, and consultation of various facility Industrial Control Systems (ICS) within the medical center. This role involves managing building HVAC controls, lighting controls, power monitoring, and other systems, while collaborating with IT to oversee the ICS network and its components. The administrator will also develop and maintain servers, applications, and databases, ensuring compliance with security policies and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design and support medical center facility Industrial Control Systems including HVAC, lighting, and power monitoring.
  • Collaborate with IT to manage ICS network topology, servers, applications, and devices.
  • Consult and advise facilities management on ICS network architecture and strategy.
  • Develop and maintain facilities servers, applications, and databases, including configuring alarms and reports.
  • Perform regular audits and self-assessments against IT compliance and industry standards.
  • Maintain records of department assets and create a continuous development plan for growth and disaster recovery.
  • Assist technicians in troubleshooting ICS network communication issues, including BACnet and Ethernet.
  • Review and test vendor supplied hardware and software for feasibility studies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4 years of relevant experience in Industrial Control Systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of BACnet systems and complex building HVAC applications.
  • Formal network training or 4 years of experience with network configurations and troubleshooting.
  • Broad knowledge of Direct Digital Control systems and UPS management.
  • Knowledge of server setup, maintenance, and IP infrastructure.
