About the position

The ICS Engineer Level II at Chugach Government Solutions (CGS) plays a crucial role in maintaining and troubleshooting Operational Technology (OT) network-connected devices, systems, and applications within the Industrial Control Systems (ICS) environment. This position involves working with various Supervisory Controls and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Energy Management Control Systems (EMCS). The engineer will be expected to operate with limited guidance from senior team members, demonstrating the ability to troubleshoot issues across all levels of the system, from endpoint devices to applications, and through the various layers of communication and data processing. In addition to troubleshooting, the engineer will assist in directing installations, reconfigurations, and maintenance of rack-mounted electrical equipment, including uninterruptable power supplies (UPS), Static Transfer Switches (STS), and Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), as well as camera and monitoring systems. The incumbent must be self-motivated and actively engaged in identifying and resolving issues to ensure the reliability and functionality of the ICS system. The work model for this position is onsite/office-based, emphasizing the importance of direct engagement with the systems and team members. The engineer will also be responsible for supporting the integrity of the System Security Plan, developing corrective action plans for identified issues, and ensuring all documentation related to SCADA/EMCS work is completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner. This role is essential for maintaining the operational integrity of the systems that support critical missions.

Responsibilities

  • Support the integrity of the System Security Plan, creating Corrective Action Plans for identified issues and all supporting processes.
  • Develop, finalize, and submit all documentation required to execute SCADA/EMCS work and illustrate full functionality with completion of work and testing.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose all forms of errors and inconsistencies with endpoint devices and integration into the SCADA environment.
  • Setup and configure all manners of OT equipment and network interface devices.
  • Verify accuracy of data and equipment, metering values, alarm points, etc.
  • Ensure rack-mounted electrical equipment is maintained and installed correctly.
  • Record and update documentation for assets in the ICS environment.
  • Provide guidance and support to other members in the ongoing upkeep of the SCADA/EMCS systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 4 years of equivalent related experience, or an Associate's degree in a related field and at least 7 years of equivalent related experience, or in lieu of a degree, at least 10 years of equivalent related experience.
  • Possess a broad knowledge of OT systems and controls, including power metering, switchgear controls and automation, Programmable Logic Controllers, and HMI systems.
  • Experience with large scale, distributed node SCADA systems.
  • Basic knowledge of various protocols found in Industrial environments (Modbus, DNP, SNMP, Bacnet, etc.).
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and maintain good working relations.
  • Ability to research, analyze, interpret rules, regulations, and procedures to a variety of situations and recommend timely solutions.
  • U.S. Citizen.
  • TS/SCI Full scope clearance, or ability to obtain Full scope from a single scope investigation.
  • Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-hire background and drug screen.
  • Ability to team lift up to 50lbs.
