About the position

Adaptek Systems is hiring Electrical Controls CAD Designers that work in a team environment to provide custom machine electrical design services. The primary job function is to develop a complete design package for control panels and associated automation, which are assembled, wired and tested in our Fort Wayne location. Our designers work closely with our Controls Engineers to satisfy customer requirements and resolve design problems from the initial design to the final release of drawing to the production floor.

Responsibilities

• Control panel design utilizing AutoCAD to provide a complete document package including control panel layout and detail drawings.
• Electrical AC and DC power distribution wiring diagrams.
• Safety controller wiring diagrams.
• I/O card termination wiring diagrams.
• Electrical schematic wiring diagrams.
• System network architecture drawings.
• Work with I/O lists to assist in development of I/O wiring drawing.
• Occasional travel to customer sites for meetings and the gathering of field information will be required.

Requirements

• Associate degree or higher in an industrial or design-related engineering program.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and experience with Microsoft Excel; experience with design of PLC systems is desired.
• Strong verbal, written, multi-tasking and team skills.
