About the position

The Industrial Controls Engineer at Pillar Innovations is responsible for providing turn-key automated solutions, specializing in PLC programming, HMI development, and software installations. This role involves troubleshooting and technical support for customers, ensuring safety objectives are met, and creating documentation for systems. The position requires a strong background in process control and automation, with a focus on customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and onsite troubleshooting and repair for customers
• Support commissioning efforts for new projects and systems onsite at customer facilities
• Resolve operational problems related to current systems or new projects
• Ensure all relevant safety objectives are observed for all work completed
• Support manufacture, build and validation of systems which include pneumatics, servos, VFD's, relays, communication networks, touchscreens, pushbuttons and robotic integration
• Create customer documentation such as user manuals, programming diagrams, network diagrams, and electrical drawings
• Maintain accurate records and files according to quality standards and customer requirements
• Modify systems upon customer's request and document the amendments accordingly

Requirements

• Valid driver's license
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3+ years of experience in process control and automation
• Familiar with reading and creating CAD drawings using AutoCAD Electrical
• Strong working knowledge with Allen Bradley PLCs and RSLogix 5000,500
• Working experience and knowledge with HMI / OIT Development using Rockwell and/or Wonderware software platforms
• Efficiently organize and plan work tasks to meet company goals
• Critical thinking with exceptional problem-solving skills, able to work independently and in team environments
• Proactive, resourceful and highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in high output environment
• Ability to balance multiple projects
• Working knowledge of MS Office productivity software
• Good understanding of mechanical principles is a plus
