About the position

The Industrial Controls Engineer at Inline Filling Systems is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems for liquid filling machinery. This role involves project planning, machine programming, system testing, and providing field service support. The engineer will work closely with team members, suppliers, and clients to ensure the successful commissioning of solutions and will also be involved in training and mentoring new employees.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement controls for Inline Filling Systems and Hinds-Bock equipment.
• Assist in project planning and system architecture design.
• Create and develop technical documentation.
• Provide field service support to technicians and customers.
• Commission solutions at customer sites, including troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.
• Train and mentor new employees.
• Convey knowledge through presentations, SOPs, and knowledgebase articles.
• Maintain relationships with key contacts, suppliers, and clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Computer Engineering or related field (GPA of 3.0 min.)
• Minimum 5 years' experience with technologies such as PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, Servo Control, Machine Vision.
• Minimum of 3 years project-based development experience.
• Cradle-to-grave controls project experience/ownership.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and solve problems using scientific methods.
• Ability to design complex systems and estimate time for task completion.
• Essential skills in PLC Ladder Logic Programming, HMI Design, Servo Controls, and VFD Configuration.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with SCADA systems.
• Experience with Allen Bradley and Automation Direct.
• 1 year of experience in the food industry (preferred).
• Technical writing skills.
