About the position

The Industrial Controls Specialist is responsible for providing engineering design and support services for the electronics and software required to control and manage power generation systems. This role involves troubleshooting, developing control system logic, and providing technical direction to ensure safe and reliable operations in a power generation facility.

Responsibilities

• Provides control system software and hardware support to ensure safe, optimal, and reliable operations.
• Works with Operations and corporate technical staff for troubleshooting, determining solutions, and supporting corrective actions for instrumentation and programming logic issues.
• Develops and implements control system logic, display modifications, and custom functions in collaboration with Operations.
• Develops Common Information Models for new or modified Generation, Transmission, and Distribution elements.
• Coordinates Electrical System Control Center (ESCC) local and site failovers for security patching, software upgrades, and other related maintenance.
• Manages and maintains installed computing infrastructure, including network and network-connected devices.
• Provides beginning-to-end technical support for capital and operations and maintenance projects, including development of the business case, scope, budget, and schedule, as well as testing, installation, and commissioning.

Requirements

• Experience with Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and Distributed Control Systems (DCSes).
• Experience working in a Power Generation facility.
• Server management (hardware and software).
• Operating Systems deployment, maintenance, upgrades, and patching.
• Basic scripting skills.
• Experience with software supporting patching, antivirus management, configuration management, network and system monitoring, or security and event monitoring.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with VMWare vSphere, including vSAN, ESXi, and vCenter.
