About the position

The Industrial Design Engineer Intern position at ETC offers students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of industrial design. Interns will work closely with experienced designers to assist in generating design concepts, creating mockups, and developing presentation materials. This role is ideal for students pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design or a related field, particularly those in their junior or senior years.

Responsibilities

• Assists in generating a broad variety of design concepts to satisfy user needs and product specifications.
• Creates sketches and/or renderings to visualize design ideas.
• Develops mechanical layouts to determine design feasibility.
• Creates mockups of UI and/or product aesthetics.
• Assists in the creation of icons and fonts for design projects.
• Designs graphics for overlays as needed.
• Supports senior Industrial Designers in preparing presentation materials for projects and products.
• Completes other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
• 1-3 years post high school education in area of specialization.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design or related field.
• Junior or Senior year or have taken relevant courses in Industrial Design or related field.
• Familiarity with rendering tools such as Keyshot or Solidworks Visualize.
• Familiarity with CAD tools such as SolidWorks and/or Rhinoceros.
• Portfolio or work sample document required.
• Webpage or web-based portfolios should include their URL on the resume.
• Submission of unofficial transcripts is required.
