About the position

Farnsworth Group is seeking an Industrial Electrical Engineer to join our team, which has been recognized as a certified Great Place to Work for the last eight years. In this role, you will be responsible for multi-project electrical design, including cleanroom design and process utility systems, primarily in advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, and technology markets. You will work closely with clients and contractors to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards. Your responsibilities will include preparing accurate electrical system construction drawings and specifications for submittal review and construction administration. You will be involved in the entire design process, from preliminary schematics to final designs, calculations, equipment selection, and layout. Additionally, you will actively engage in code research and application, interfacing with other disciplines and coordinating with production staff to ensure seamless project execution. Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate Electrical system construction drawings and specifications for submittal review and construction administration.
  • Prepare preliminary schematics through final designs, calculations, equipment selection, and layout.
  • Maintain project design budgets and schedules while pursuing quality.
  • Actively engage in and assume responsibility for code research and application.
  • Interface with other disciplines, clients, and contractors.
  • Coordinate with other production staff.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
  • A Professional Engineer License (PE) is strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of related Electrical Design experience.
  • Strong knowledge of medium voltage and low voltage design.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
  • Application knowledge of electrical, building, and energy codes is desired.
  • Strong verbal and writing skills.
  • Strong background with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and REVIT.
  • Ability to travel.
