About the position

The Industrial Electrician at Lincoln Electric is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex production equipment and systems. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems and the ability to work under general supervision while providing training to less experienced electricians. The position involves a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays, and requires a commitment to safety and efficiency in all tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, inspect, adjust, and repair automated machines, process systems, and robotic systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems, including mechanical and electrical.
  • Evaluate and recommend equipment improvements to enhance availability, capability, and yield.
  • Conduct equipment failure analyses and assist engineers in operating test equipment to obtain performance data.
  • Diagnose test equipment malfunctions and service and repair equipment as required.
  • Configure, commission, and test new equipment, ensuring all maintenance and installations are documented and safe.
  • Document repairs for regulatory purposes and maintain neat records of work performed.
  • Order and maintain spare parts and oversee maintenance contracts and service work as assigned.
  • Work collaboratively with Engineering, Production Team Leads, and Managers to achieve desired results.
  • Adjust schedule and work hours as needed, including being on-call and working weekends or holidays.

Requirements

  • Completion of an Electrician Apprentice Program or an Associate degree/certificate in Electronics/Electrical Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Pass the skilled trade assessment test for this position.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and some knowledge of combustion and/or hydraulic systems.
  • Experience in relay logic, industrial controls, electronics, and PLCs.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and engineering drawings.
  • Basic computer skills to communicate with machine control systems and PLCs.
  • Ability to diagnose root causes of problems, make repairs, and test for proper operation.
  • Proficiency in using measuring devices such as multi-meters and oscilloscopes.
  • Good organizational and communication skills, with a team-oriented and self-motivated attitude.
