About the position

The Industrial Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical circuits, systems, and related devices. This role ensures compliance with state and local electrical codes while contributing to facility improvement projects and safety initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate and correct problems.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustments or repairs.
  • Lead electrical aspects of facility-related improvement, expansion, and repair projects.
  • Accurately estimate material costs and labor hours for electrical projects.
  • Advise management on the potential hazards of continued equipment operation.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using testing devices to ensure compatibility and safety.
  • Follow and as-built various engineered drawings including electrical interconnects, schematics, and one-line diagrams.
  • Assist in electrical and non-electrical safety improvement initiatives and hazard risk assessments.
  • Assist Maintenance Technicians with non-electrical tasks.
  • Maintain valid state electrical licensing.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by the Facilities Lead or Manufacturing Engineering & Facilities Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Journeyman Electrician license from the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation or within a state of reciprocity.
  • 2+ years of work experience as a licensed Journeyman Electrician or higher.
  • Knowledge of service entry power, power distribution, switchgear/switch racks, and MCCs.
  • Ability to estimate time and material required for jobs.
  • Comprehensive electrical & electronic diagnostic, troubleshooting, and analytical skills preferred.
  • Comfortable working with high voltage power (480v).
  • Knowledge of electrical building codes.
  • Proficient computer skills (Outlook, Microsoft Office, etc.).
  • Ability to read building schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and provide effective solutions.
  • Firsthand production equipment knowledge (CNCs, manual machines, etc.).
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects while prioritizing work activity.
  • Ability to read, write, and complete reports in a timely manner.
  • Effective communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to make routine decisions within a predetermined span of authority.
  • Hands-on approach with a strong work ethic and aptitude.
  • Ability to handle basic mechanical tools.
  • Above average organizational skills.
  • Ability to use a scissor lift.
  • Excellent time management skills.
