The position also includes on-call duties, which may involve emergency call-outs and weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, overhaul, maintain, and repair large industrial stationary engines.
• Troubleshoot controllers and sensors related to engine management systems.
• Perform minor and major repairs and overhauls on engines and related equipment.
• Calibrate and replace sensors and input devices in engine management controls.
• Operate and test stationary and portable generators, ensuring proper operation of related equipment.
• Maintain compliance with safety regulations and District policies.

Requirements

• Two years of skilled experience in the diagnosis, troubleshooting, maintenance, overhauling, and repair of large industrial stationary engines for Industrial Engine Technician I.
• Four years of progressively responsible experience for Industrial Engine Technician II, or two years as equivalent to an Industrial Engine Technician I with the District.
• Valid California driver's license, Class A with hazmat and tank endorsements, or ability to obtain within twelve months of hire.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with microprocessor-based engine controllers and PID loop controllers.
• Knowledge of gas analysis theory and practices related to natural gas engines.
• Familiarity with machine shop practices and procedures.
