As an Industrial Engineer at Magna Seating, you will play a crucial role in the development and manufacturing of high-quality complete seating systems. This position involves direct accountability for evaluating fixtures, equipment, hand tools, and conducting time studies necessary for the manufacture of assemblies and end products for current or future programs. You will provide engineering assistance in the design and manufacture of fixtures, machines, and tools specifically for seat assemblies. This includes a thorough review of ergonomics, mistake-proofing, workload management, and ensuring the ease of assembly of components or end products. In addition to these responsibilities, you will work closely with the Health, Safety, and Environment (HS+E) coordinator to ensure that all equipment and fixtures comply with ergonomic and safety standards. You will also assist in preparing Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) reports and facilitate compliance with all OSHA regulations related to the plant. Your role will involve following up on issue resolution and conducting audits, as well as recommending necessary modifications, improvements, or changes to maintain compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This position requires a high level of analytical ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. You will be expected to utilize your proficiency in various computer software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases, as well as Solidworks and AutoCAD software to effectively carry out your responsibilities.
