About the position

As an Industrial Engineer at Magna Seating, you will play a crucial role in the development and manufacturing of high-quality seating systems for the automotive, heavy truck, and bus industries. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of manufacturing processes through direct accountability for fixtures, equipment evaluation, hand tools, and time studies necessary for the production of assemblies and end products. You will provide engineering assistance in the design and manufacture of fixtures, machines, and tools, focusing on ergonomics, mistake-proofing, workload management, and the ease of assembly of components or end products. In this position, you will collaborate closely with the Health, Safety, and Environment (HS+E) coordinator to ensure that all equipment and fixtures comply with ergonomic and safety standards. You will also assist in preparing Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) reports and facilitate compliance with all OSHA regulations related to the plant. Your role will involve following up on issue resolution and conducting audits to recommend necessary modifications, improvements, or changes to maintain compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Responsibilities

  • Direct accountability for fixtures, equipment evaluation, hand tools, and time studies for manufacturing assemblies and end products.
  • Provide engineering assistance in the design and manufacture of fixtures, machines, and tools for seat assemblies.
  • Review ergonomics, mistake proofing, workload, and ease of assembly of components or end products.
  • Work closely with HS+E coordinator to ensure compliance with ergonomic and safety standards.
  • Assist in preparing Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) reports.
  • Facilitate compliance with OSHA regulations relating to the plant.
  • Follow up on issue resolution and conduct audits.
  • Recommend modifications, improvements, or changes necessary to maintain compliance with laws.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • High level of analytical ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Proficiency with computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Experience with Solidworks and AutoCAD software.
