The Industrial Engineer at Insitu, a Boeing company, plays a crucial role in optimizing operational efficiency within the production team in Bingen, WA. This position involves developing, implementing, and evaluating processes that enhance manufacturing performance while ensuring adherence to budget and schedule. The role emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and the application of advanced engineering techniques to improve product design and manufacturing methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead the application of Industrial Engineering concepts, techniques, analysis and decision tools to promote and implement changes in manufacturing.
• Develop models, databases, and spreadsheets to analyze data and provide summary analysis and metrics for consultation to customers.
• Apply extensive industrial engineering techniques to product design teams to ensure robust product design and work statements.
• Research, design, develop, improve, and implement processes to enhance schedule performance, lower costs, and improve quality using Lean and other Industrial Engineering concepts.
• Manage, define, negotiate, and control the scope, cost, and timing of projects, ensuring completion within budget and on schedule.
• Conduct planning activities such as time studies, production facility layout design, capital expenditure evaluation, and production metric development.
• Utilize integration activities like standard work implementation, material kitting, metric tracking, and process improvement to advance manufacturing methods.
• Use engineering methods to develop optimal process designs and efficient resource utilization in manufacturing and testing of products.
• Analyze and design the value stream, including capability, capacity, throughput, workflow, and logistics.

Requirements

• 9+ years of Engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree in Science; or 7+ years of Engineering with a Master's degree.
• Previous experience as an Industrial Engineer in a production environment, with experience in unmanned aircraft being a strong plus.
• Previous experience in a lead capacity is a strong plus.
• Ability to work onsite 50-75% in Bingen, WA.
